About the Role

As a packhouse worker, you’ll be part of the team that grades, packs and prepares cherries for shipping. From tipping cherries into the sorting machine to boxing them for customers, every step matters — and you’ll help make sure only the best fruit leaves our doors.

What the job involves:

  • Tipping cherries into the sorting machine

  • Grading/sorting and quality-checking products

  • Packing fruit into boxes of different sizes, weighing and lidding

  • Moving packed boxes into the coolstore

  • Working in a chilled environment – perfect for hot Central Otago days

  • From peak season on, working either early morning shifts (~6:00 am start) or late afternoon/evening shifts

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need experience — just attention to detail and the willingness to work in a team.

You are:

  • Physically fit – able to stand for long periods

  • A team player with good communication skills

  • Flexible – able to adapt to changes in production schedules

Step into the role of Packhouse Team Leader and take responsibility for your crew on the production floor. Build practical leadership experience while shaping your own approach to guiding and motivating your team.

About the Role

As a Packhouse Team Leader, you’ll manage a group of packhouse staff to meet production targets, maintain top quality and keep operations safe and efficient. You’ll motivate your team, solve problems on the go and coordinate with other leaders to keep everything on track.

What the job involves:

  • Leading and motivating your team to hit production goals

  • Coordinating workflow and adjusting to daily needs

  • Troubleshooting operational issues quickly and effectively

  • Communicating clearly with staff and management

  • Ensuring a safe, tidy and efficient working environment

  • Working in cool conditions – a refreshing change from the Central Otago heat

Join our team and play a crucial role in moving fruit bins safely and maintaining workflow.

About the Role

As a Forklift Operator, you’ll handle the loading, unloading, and movement of fruit bins within the packhouse. You’ll also assist with minor admin duties to help keep production and stock records accurate.

What the job involves:

  • Safely loading and unloading fruit bins from trucks and trailers

  • Moving and arranging bins for storage or processing

  • Performing daily equipment checks and reporting maintenance issues

  • Inspecting bins to prevent damage and maintain quality

  • Keeping the work area clean and organised

  • Assisting with light administrative tasks, such as bin tracking and record updates

  • Follow all safety protocols at all times

  • From peak season on, working either early morning shifts (~6:00 am start) or late afternoon/evening shifts

What We’re Looking For

You are reliable, safety-conscious, and organised. Experience with forklifts is preferred, but the right mindset and willingness to learn are most important.

You are:

  • Hold a valid NZ forklift licence

  • Experienced in operating a forklift (preferred)

  • Physically able to enter/exit the forklift frequently and perform light manual tasks

  • Organised and able to prioritise effectively

  • Comfortable with basic administrative duties

  • A good communicator and team player

  • Detail-oriented with strong safety awareness

As part of our Quality Control crew, you’ll ensure every box of cherries meets our premium standards. You’ll check grading accuracy, weights and labels, keep detailed records and communicate to the team to keep quality consistent under pressure.

What the job involves:

  • Checking cherries meet grading standards during packing

  • Sampling and testing in-process and final product

  • Conducting consistent box checks with the QC team

  • Verifying box weights and label accuracy

  • Keeping accurate and complete QC records

  • Working in cool packhouse conditions – perfect for Central Otago summers

  • From peak season on, working either early morning shifts (~6:00 am start) or late afternoon/evening shifts

What the job involves:

  • Stacking boxes of cherries onto pallets

  • Checking labels for accuracy

  • Assisting with accurate shipment records, including packing lists and delivery notes

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic coolstore environment

  • Following all safety procedures and standards

  • Working closely with your supervisor and team to keep things running smoothly
