We are seeking an experienced Procurement specialist who offers skills and experience through supporting their team, from planning, inventory control to ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary to support our busy operation.  LeaderBrand is seeking someone who takes ownership for their work, has the ability to offer good project planning and resource management skills, with the ability to plan being key, but also to be able to react quickly and make prompt decisions.  

The procurement specialist role is a full-time permanent position based at LeaderBrand’s Processing Workshop located at 352 Lytton Road, Gisborne.  Working hours will be minimum of 40 and maximum of 45 hours per week.  Hourly rate will be around $39 per hour and is dependent on skills and experience that you bring with you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

LeaderBrand is seeking an experienced procurement specialist to assist with running and planning our stock control system.  As part of our maintenance team, you will focus on planning and coordinating stock control tasks, including ensuring we have the right parts for any breakdown that may occur.  You will be responsible for planning, inventory control and purchasing.

Close collaboration within our teams will be required to ensure the procurement aligns with our business goals and compliance requirements.

Our ideal procurement specialist will become LeaderBrand’s champion ensuring they provide excellent maintenance planning and resource management skills.  The ability to ‘plan’ being the focus of this role, added to quick reaction skills and ensuring prompt decisions are made.

The duties of our procurement specialist will include:

·         Planning and management of procurement activities to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services

·         Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to establish strong, cost-effective partnerships. Ensure supplier compliance with company policies and procedures

·         Continuously monitor and assess procurement processes to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

·         Oversee negotiation and management of contracts with suppliers, ensuring terms are favorable and risks are minimised

·         Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process

·         Work closely with the production and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels and ensure that stock levels are optimised to meet operational needs without overstocking

·         Accurate record keeping and regular reporting on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels

·         Confidence required in negotiation skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Ability to proactively identify and resolve any issues to minimise disruptions in the supply chain. 

ABOUT YOU

LeaderBrand is seeking an enthusiastic team-mate who offers:

·         NZQF level 2 or 3 qualification in supply chain management, or engineering business administration (or related qualification)

·         One years’ experience in procurement, preferable within the engineering or manufacturing industry

·         Proven track record in supplier negotiation and contract management

·         Experience with procurement software and systems

·         Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Detail oriented with strong organisational skills.
