We are on the lookout for a dairy assistant at Whakahi Dairies. The farm is well located at Longbush, just 10 minutes from Invercargill.   The contour is flat and is split by SH1 with an underpass for access. The farms 550 cows are milked through a  40 aside herringbone shed which is centrally sited with the longest cow walk being approximately 1,500 metres. 

Down here in Southland, we milk more than 16,200 dairy cows across 22 dairy farms, producing over 6.5 million kilograms of milk solids every year. We’re committed to finding the best farm solutions, growing our people and being good custodians of the land. That means we’re focused on enhancing high standards of on-farm performance, health and safety, environmental management and animal welfare across all our operations. 

About you

If you’ve had a bit of experience that’s great, but not essential if you’ve got the right attitude. We’ll show you the ropes and this could be the first step in a long and prosperous career in farming and a future as a Farm Owner.
