Raspberry Pickers & Packers needed for our upcoming season at Smithfield Raspberries - Ashburton - Season 2025/2026.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Willing to work 7 days a week, averaging 6 hours per day (annual leave days negotiable in advance).

• Willing to work up to 10 hours per day if required due to weather delays.

• Candidates must be available to work over the Christmas/New Year period (Dec 27th to 31st).

• NZ work visa or NZ citizen (i.e. rights to work in NZ).

• Must be able to get yourself to and from the farm (2km from Main Rd of Ashburton).

WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE:

• All equipment required for your role is supplied; just bring yourself, some lunch, drink bottle and a sunhat.

• Despite being a 7 day/week operation, you will still get time off on wet days! (we can't harvest wet fruit).

• Weather permitting, we generally work from 8am to 2pm meaning you can enjoy your summer afternoons.

• Piece-rate pay; The harder you work, the more you get paid! Some of our regular workers can earn up to $50/hr!!!

• Variety of work; if fieldwork isn't for you, we have shed based processing roles, retail roles or general labouring available (limited).

• We shut down for the 25th & 26th Dec as well as the 1st & 2nd Jan; so you won't miss Christmas or New Years celebrations with friends and family!

• Above all else, with the available work hours and piece-rate pay system, there is the opportunity for you to earn/save some serious cash over your summer holiday!

The role will likely begin with picking fruit. Depending on people’s capabilities, competence etc., we do have other roles available, but these can be discussed once you have some experience picking.
